Last Saturday, I had the pleasure to have a private shopping event at HomeGoods, my dream store. We were a group of BlogHer Network Members.
May I just say that I am in love with the location of this new store: 795 Columbus Ave, NYC 10025. It is located where you can jump out the Henry Hudson Parkway and get there in no time. There is tons of parking around it, private and public too.
This is not just a store for home and garden, you can also get some spices, truffle oil, a wide range of extra virgin olive oil and much more.
The best thing about this store is their low prices. There are so many good things with wonderful prices.
I just can’t get away from the kitchen department. You can tell I work in the culinary industry.
Once I was there I was ready to pick the furniture for my living room. Yes, I need to finish my living room project or better said, I need to start the project. They have cute accent furniture for any room.
I bought for Ginger and Brownie a couple of things. Three to be exact. Three bowls: One for her food, one for his food and one for their water. Can I mention that I love their new bowl more than them, because it is so big that they don’t drop food or water on the floor. Alleluia!
My kitchen décor is mostly red. This table seems like it was meant to be on my path that day.
You see the white and dark bronze colored bathroom set on the right at the bottom shelf? I bought it including the toilet cleaner. Now my bathroom went from fancy to fancier.
There are some of the items I bought during the shopping spree. I’m obsessed with jars and glasses and pretty vessels. I finally got my salad spinner. Yahooo to that!
I simply adore this store. If not, just go ask my wallet. I went in there with a $100 in mind for my budget, and let’s just say I spend almost twice that amount. Good prices got me carried away.

I have been trying to get motivated to finally finish my living room project. I think this is what I was asking for. I am so excited to have been invited for a private shopping event on June 11th.
Can I get my living room to look like this? The walls of my hallway has a similar color to this theme. I am defenitely loving the chair on the left, the center table and the pillows.
Maybe I can also finish my balcony too as soon as I can get the squirrels to stay away. That last thing might be hard to get.
Or buy this girl a new bowl for her water since she and her playmate broke one of them over the weekend.

As a future chef, not only I make sure my family is eating the right food and getting their nutrients, I make sure my pets are well fed too.
When I was offered the opportunity to review Purina Pro Plan Selects I immediately jumped in. Not only it is a brand I trust, it is a brand I have been feeding my dogs with. Ginger and Brownie eat regular Purina Pro Plan. Now you can understand why it was so easy for them to just dig in the bowl.
Our pets are everything to us. They are the ones waiting at home for me late at night after a long day in the kitchen. Pets don’t care how you look or how bad your day was. They just love you no matter what. And we love them back.
This is Ginger. Look at her face! How can you avoid loving her?
This is an image that I forever have to live with. It happens everyday.
Don’t get carry away with her face. She is quite a dog with a personality. We call her feisty sometimes.
She is adorable and we love her but… She barks at any dog that is on TV. She barks at any dog passing by our house. She wiggles her tail at anyone.
She also would sit, down or give you her paw for a Beggin’ Strip.
This is what happens when you let her know that it is ok to “take it”. She starts by staring at it.
And then…
Boom! She digs in. I am happy. She is very picky. It took me awhile to discover which brand she likes the most before and to see that she enjoys Selects is priceless.
This is Brownie. He is quiet inside the house and loud outside. We have never heard him bark once in the house and we like it like that. Imagine two versions of Ginger? Oh no! No no no no no!
He is the most adorable and charming dog you could ever meet. At only 14 pounds, he is so strong and unique. He is weird and I like him for being weird.
Unlike Ginger, Brownie would sit, down or give you his right front paw only if he can see you have a piece of Beggin Strip in your hand. Smart dog! Too smart!
My mind was more at ease about changing his food. Brownie only has eaten Purina Pro Plan since he was born AND he is not a picky eater at all. I knew he would accept the new food right away.
And so he did. Brownie throws his food out the bowl and then he eats it from the floor. See? Unique!

Pets love you through thick and thin. Nothing better than a warm nuzzle and lick on the hand after a rough day. When it feels that no one understands you, rub the ear of a pet…see how they respond.
